The Joseph Gallery is searching for emerging and established Ohio visual artists interested in participating in the development of an exciting and representative print portfolio. The resulting portfolio and print editions by Ohio artists will be displayed in the Joseph Hotel and offered for sale in The Joseph Gallery. The Joseph Gallery will be located in Columbus’ Short North Arts District in conjunction with the Joseph Hotel, being developed by The Pizzuti Companies and slated to open in 2013. The boutique hotel will feature contemporary art in guest rooms, public areas and the commercial art gallery. Ron Pizzuti, noted contemporary art collector, in advancing the area as an arts destination, remains committed to Ohio artists.

Visual artists, including photographers, 18 years of age and older, who live in the state of Ohio may apply by submitting 3 digital images representing their original work. Artists are not required to be printmakers or have any experience in the printmaking process. There is no fee to enter. Entries are due by end of the day, January 31, 2012. A short-­‐list will be selected by a panel of professionals, including art collector Ron Pizzuti. *Short-­‐ listed artists will meet with Glen Baldridge, artist and co-­‐founder of Forth Estate, to discuss ideas to develop and produce a print for the portfolio. Mr. Baldridge will meet individually with each artist to determine the print process best suited for the artist’s work. Short-­‐listed artists will subsequently be invited to submit a proposal from which the final selections will be made. Selected finalists will be compensated with a flat fee of $1500. The fee will cover the purchase of the prints and travel expenses to New York for the production of the print. A small number of Artist Proofs will become property of the artist. The resulting edition of prints will remain the sole property of the Joseph Gallery.
