CTA public art call

Professional artists are invited to submit qualifications for consideration of opportunities for permanent artwork at seven Chicago Transit Authority stations currently under renovation on the north branch of the Red Line.  These opportunties are open to all living artists, both emerging and established, with a background in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media and an interest in public art.  Prior public art experience is not a requirement.  The purchase of artwork for each station is independent of the others; each piece of artwork will be purchased under a separate contract.

The budget for each station’s project will range between $45,000 and $99,000.00   This is inclusive of administration, design, material, fabrication, insurance, installation, delivery of artwork and an artist fee.

Written questions regarding this RFP will be accepted no later than 12:00 pm Monday September 24, 2012.  You may send written questions to Iliana Stark at istark@transitchicago.com

Application due October 8th, see CAR for entry information
