City of Seattle: 2011 Civic Square Fencing
The Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Department of Finance and Administrative Services and Triad Development, seeks up to eight emerging artists to develop temporary large-scale, colorful panels from existing artwork in any two-dimensional medium. The panels will be attached to the fence surrounding the Civic Square construction site between Third and Fourth avenues and Cherry and James streets in downtown Seattle. These panels may remain in place for approximately one year and will be added to the 20 panels now on the site. The panels are intended to celebrate Seattle’s vibrancy, cultural life, history and position in the forefront of environmental sustainability.
BUDGET
Up to eight artists will each receive between $1,000 to $3,000 honorarium depending on the number of images selected. In exchange for this honorarium, the artist will be required to deliver his or her artwork to the photographer and pick up said artwork after being photographed.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
