Color – NYC Exhibition
“Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways.” – Oscar Wilde
This is an open Call for Submissions from artists all over the USA for an exhibit in our gallery – an 8000 square foot Civil War-era warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront. With its trendy restaurants, bars, boutiques and billion dollar view of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor, it’s an exciting place to visit and EXHIBIT. The enormous space of the gallery affords us the opportunity to exhibit really huge work, and we welcome it. We are fortunate to be joined by a prestigious juror – Brooke Kamin Rapaport, former curator in Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and guest curator at NY’s Jewish Museum. With her experience, expect an exceptionally exciting exhibition!
Color Jul 28 – Aug 19, 2012 Brooke Kamin Rapaport, independent curator for NYC museums, juror $2850 in Cash Prizes: $1000 Best in Show, $250 Curator’s Choice, $500 People’s Choice, plus eleven $100 Best in Category awards.
