VPA seeks applicants for Sandra Kahn Alpert Visiting Artist Program

Syracuse University:

The College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) is now accepting applications for the Sandra Kahn Alpert Visiting Artist Program. The program was established by Alpert, 1945 alumna of VPA, and her husband, Clement C. Alpert, to bring leading visual artists to the SU campus to engage in direct interaction with students and faculty in the School of Art and Design.

As part of this residency the artist is provided with a studio, housing, an honorarium and access to college facilities and University resources. The artist in residence is required to lead one seminar or atelier-style course, give a lecture in the Department of Art’s Visiting Artist Lecture Series and be in residence for a minimum of three days per week. Applications from nationally and internationally engaged visual artists with widely influential practices that cross and combine media are encouraged.

Interested applicants should submit a current curriculum vitae and letter of interest to AlpertFellow@syr.edu. Review of applicants will begin immediately.

For more information contact Ludwig Stein, professor of painting, at lkstein@syr.edu, or Sam Van Aken, associate professor of sculpture, at svanaken@syr.edu.
